EMT Basic Initial*
($180 or waived + $12 + $.55 + $45 + $3) This course follows the guidelines established by the N.C. Office of EMS. Student prerequisites: High school diploma or general education development (GED) and successful completion of an entrance exam assessing basic reading comprehension skills at a minimum at the tenth grade level. Students receive instruction in emergency care procedures, operational aspects of the EMT's role, and developing emergency care skills.

EMT-Paramedic Initial Course
($180 or waived + $.55 + $35 + $16 + $170 + $150 + $3) Prerequisite: EMT-Basic credential or candidate pending; high school diploma or general educational development (GED); successful completion of an entrance exam assessing basic reading comprehension and English skills at a minimum at the post-secondary grade level; demonstration of math skills at a minimum at the high school grade level; as a prerequisite or corequisite: successful completion of EMS 3000 Anatomy and Physiology or higher. The EMT-Paramedic course will follow the N.C. Office of EMS. This course offers instruction in all phases of prehospital advanced life support. Instruction includes EKG interpretation, as well as skills associated with the treatment and assessment of the cardiac, trauma and pediatric patients. ACLS, PALS & PHTLS are also covered.

To register Online:
- Find the course name and course number to register for your desired course(s).
- If you are fee waived, click here for the online registration form. If you have not received verification from RCC within 72 hours please call 336-633-4165. If you are not fee waived, please register in person or by phone at 336-633-4165.
- Students may register after the course starts as long as the census date has not passed.
- Once you are registered, you will receive an email with further instructions on how to login. Remember that you will not have access to the course until the first day of class.
To register by Phone:
- Find the course name and course number to register for your desired course.
- Call our Continuing Education Registration Team at 336-633-4165 between the hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday - Thursday, and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday.
- Students may register after the course starts as long as the census date has not passed.. Once you are registered, the Continuing Education Registration staff will give you further instructions on how to login to your course. Remember that you will not have access to the course until the first day of class.
Course Fees:
- If you are affiliated (paid or volunteer) with a fire department, rescue squad, EMS service, or law enforcement agency in North Carolina, your fees are waived and you only have to pay for any required books, card fees and insurance that may apply.
- Course fees vary from $70-180 per course depending on the number of hours within the course. In-state and out-of-state tuition for continuing education is the same.
